The following work is 100% created by Kateri and her students through the arts integration course Songwriting is Easy!


 

This group of students collaborated through Spotify’s Soundtrap and recorded their own version of a well-loved Philippine folk song.

Special thanks to the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra for the opportunity to host this workshop.

 

This student recreated a song within Minecraft using Note Blocks as they correspond to the keys on the piano.

Rhythm Scavenger Hunt

If you can talk, you have rhythm.

By integrating digital drawing on Zoom’s whiteboard, TAKADIMI system of counting in Indian classical music, and Western music notation, this student discovered sounds through items in their own home.

 

Op. 2 No. 3 Math Clues…DUN DUN DUN!

To strengthen this 3rd grader’s understanding of the multiplication tables, the student composed rhyme schemes and paired each rhyme with a guitar chord. The result…a fun way to drill your multiplication tables!
